Nikita Khrushchev was a prominent Soviet statesman who served as the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964 and as Premier from 1958 to 1964. He is best known for his role in the de-Stalinization of the Soviet Union, his attempts to reform the economy, and his leadership during the Cold War, including the Cuban Missile Crisis.
