Miguel de Cervantes, born on September 29, 1547, in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, is widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in Western literature. He is best known for his iconic novel "Don Quixote," published in two parts in 1605 and 1615, which is considered a foundational work of modern Western literature and explores themes of reality and illusion. Despite facing numerous hardships throughout his life, including imprisonment and financial struggles, Cervantes's literary legacy endures, influencing authors and artists around the world. He died on April 22, 1616, in Madrid.
