About Thomas More
Thomas More (1478-1535) was an English lawyer, statesman, and humanist best known for his book "Utopia," which explores ideal societal structures and governance. A key figure in the Renaissance, he served as Lord Chancellor under King Henry VIII, but ultimately fell out of favor due to his refusal to accept the King’s separation from the Catholic Church. More was executed for his opposition to the Act of Supremacy, and he was later canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
