About Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama, born Tenzin Gyatso on July 6, 1935, is the 14th Dalai Lama and the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. He was recognized as the reincarnation of his predecessor at a young age and became the political leader of Tibet at 16. Following the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950, he fled to India, where he has since lived in exile, advocating for peace, compassion, and the preservation of Tibetan culture and autonomy.
